The treatment of trauma

I watched the video  ” The Thin Blue Line ” and feel a treatment of trauma is very important because David Harris’ trauma caused some bad cases.  So I introduce the treatment of trauma.

A number of psychotherapy approaches have been designed with the treatment of trauma in mind—EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Biofeedback, Internet Family Therapy, and Sensorimotor psychoterapy. In those therapies,  EMDR is said to be the most effective to PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) ,so I introduce EMDR.

EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. The therapy is the way how the patient’s gaze is following the fingertip motion of the therapist while the patient is thinking about his traumatic experience. The eye movement stimulates directly his brain and activates the information processing of the brain. So he will calm down in somewhere of the mind in a short time.

If the treatment of trauma like EMDS becomes more common , the number of crimes will decrease.

Interesting. Obviously there all kinds of reasons why people commit crimes, or why some people seem predisposed to criminal behavior. But if people can ‘get in touch’ with their emotional lives, it could help, so therapy seems like a good idea.

The movie “Doing Time, Doing Vipassana,” shows how inmates in an Indian prison took a course in Vipassana meditation.

It dramatically changed the behaviour and attitude of the inmates and jailers who participated in the courses and, thereby, improved the entire atmosphere of the prisons.
